MNJcc Events

I recently joined the MNJcc and am enjoying working out there -- friendly place, all ages and no hard-body attitudes.
That reminded me that I haven't Blogged lately about upcoming events at the neighbourhood institution, which is celebrating its 60th anniversary this year.
So... From Barley to Psychology: Evolving Approaches to the Omer takes place Wednesdays in April.
"Countdown to Shavuot! The Omer, the seven-week period from Passover to Shavuot, marks the relationship between the Israelites’ Exodus from slavery and the receiving of the Torah. Delve into Biblical, Rabbinic, Kabbalistic (Jewish mystical), Hasidic and contemporary sources, exploring the meanings of this significant period on the Jewish calendar. Texts will be presented in Hebrew and English. Suitable for beginner and intermediate students. Members: $85, non-Members $105.
Presented with Makom: Creative Downtown Judaism."
As well, registration is open for the centre's summer camps; there are a wide variety of events taking place in the Al Green Theatre; and on display is a photography exhibit called Nurture: Stories of New Midlife Mothers.
Cheers,
Vanessa
