DH and I took in The Sparrow Songs and thoroughly enjoyed it.

"Introducing the Ivy Rose Orchestra, or IRO for short, a vehicle for performing the original country/folk/roots music I've written over the past few years with lyricist Barbara Nichol.
The band's debut concert is on April 8th, at 8:00 pm, at
Revival Bar on College Street (783 College, near Shaw to be exact),
and I very much hope you will be there and/or tell people in your network about
it. Please Like the
band on Facebook.
If you saw The Sparrow Songs: A
Country Song String,
much of the music from that show will be part of the evening, but also many new
songs that we can't wait to play for an audience for the first time.
The cover charge is
$15--steep for a Monday night, I know, but I promise we will put on a show you
won't forget.
Here's the personnel:
Aviva Rajsky on vocals and backup vocals (Aviva also did most of the
vocal arrangements)
Lis Soderberg on vocals and backup vocals
Kevin Howley on drums and backup vocals
Aidan Mason on fiddle, mandolin and electric guitar
Tim Posgate on banjo
Kurt Nielsen on bass
Kevin Neal on pedal steel
Myself on guitar, vocals
and backup vocals
We also have 3 special
guest vocalists:
Andy Maize of
the Skydiggers, who played Tin Cup in the Sparrow Songs
Scarlett Flynn of Running Red Lights, who played Sparrow
David Rodenburg, who played Marcus
Hope to see you
there!
Please forward this to
anyone you think might enjoy the show. Some samples of the music may be
found here."
