Christie Pits Arts Festival Today

Poster for Christie Pits Arts Festival, which offers local arts, food, crafts and clothingWhat a glorious weekend it's been for both Doors Open and, today, the Christie Pits Arts Festival.
So get out there and enjoy them!
DH and I took in two Doors Open buildings yesterday, including the High Level Pumping Station.
It... was... gorgeous!
Massive ceiling heights, funky machinery, tile floors and an older, preserved building.
Plus, only a 5-minute bike ride from our area.

Check it out!
Cheers,

Vanessa

Doors Open May 24th and 25th

Well, I hope you got out this lovely past weekend and participated in a Jane's Walk! DH
and I joined The Steps of Old Lake Iroquois yesterday and thoroughly enjoyed it. The pic is of the pond in Wychwood Park, a privately owned community on our doorstep and a bucolic oasis surrounded by bustling city.
I'm mentioning it because Doors Open looms May 24th/25th, so if you missed Jane's Walk, perhaps you can plan to explore some of Toronto's more iconic buildings that weekend.
Two buildings in our area will be open for touring: the Bloor HotDocs Cinema and the Chapel of St. Alban the Martyr at Royal St. George's College.

Cheers,
Vanessa

Tom's Place Sale at MNJCC This Weekend

If you have any spare time after attending Mayfest and Doors Open and you're in need of some new clothes, you might want to check out the Tom's Place sale at the MNJCC this weekend.
It's an especially good place to buy men's suits at a good price, though they have lots of other clothes up for grabs, as well.
Cheers,
Vanessa

Doors Open This Weekend

Another excuse to get out and walk in our city -- yeah! Doors Open is slated for this weekend and there are two buildings in our area that are open.
The Leighton G. McCarthy House on Walmer Road (pictured) will open its doors on Saturday, but not Sunday. The Georgian-style mansion is called "an Annex landmark" and currently is part of the Ontario Institute for Studies in Education.
As well, the Women's Art Association of Canada at 23 Prince Arthur Avenue will welcome the public on both Saturday and Sunday afternoon.
Enjoy!

Doors Open And Much More Slated For This Weekend

Just want to remind you that Doors Open Toronto takes place this weekend. There's quite a few sites within walking distance of our area.
And, in the tradition of stuffing late Spring and early Fall weekends with activities, here are three additional things going on this weekend that might interest you: Bells On Bloor, which will roll through our 'hood; Mayfest at Palmerston P.S.; and, on a different note, A Refugee Camp In The Heart Of The City at Christie Pits.
Cheers,
Vanessa
