Mayfest at Palmerston PS this Saturday

Palmerston Public School at 734 Palmerston Avenue holds its annual Mayfest Saturday from 11 am to 3 pm.

"The whole community is welcome to join Palmerston's families celebrate spring at our annual Mayfest. 
There's a great BBQ, bake sale, book and rummage sale, silent auction, basket raffle, races, all things bouncy and much, much more."

Tom's Place Sale at MNJCC This Weekend

If you have any spare time after attending Mayfest and Doors Open and you're in need of some new clothes, you might want to check out the Tom's Place sale at the MNJCC this weekend.
It's an especially good place to buy men's suits at a good price, though they have lots of other clothes up for grabs, as well.

Happening weekend... Mayfest at Palmerston P.S. from 11 am to 3 pm on Saturday, Jean Sibelius Square Park opening Sunday at 3:30 pm and Festival on Bloor Sunday, too.

Mayfest This Weekend At Palmerston P.S.

School fun fairs are a great way to get community members out and mingling. This Saturday is Mayfest at Palmerston P.S. from 11 am to 3 pm.
Kids want to go for the games, entertainment and hang time with their buddies, of course, but even if you don't have a child in school, it's fun to peruse the used book sale and the rummage sale. There are usually baked goodies for sale, as well, and a silent auction.

Doors Open And Much More Slated For This Weekend

Just want to remind you that Doors Open Toronto takes place this weekend. There's quite a few sites within walking distance of our area.

And, in the tradition of stuffing late Spring and early Fall weekends with activities, here are three additional things going on this weekend that might interest you: Bells On Bloor, which will roll through our 'hood; Mayfest at Palmerston P.S.; and, on a different note, A Refugee Camp In The Heart Of The City at Christie Pits.

Mayfest Set For next weekend at Palmerston P.S.

Most schools have an annual fair, or event. It was only after my kids left Palmerston P.S. in Seaton Village that I realized that the one at their public school was great... comparison will do that for you!

Mayfest always takes place the last Sunday in May, rain or shine, from 11 am to 3 pm on the grounds on of the school. Mark your calendars for May 29th this year!
It's good, clean, cheap fun for the kids, of course, but I LOVE rooting through the donated books at the book sale and poking through the rummage sale. Also for adults: a silent auction and basket raffle.

You can buy a BBQ lunch to build your strength for the family races and you can let the kids loose to enjoy a bouncy castle and super slide; jousting; face painting; button making and more.

If you'd like to rent a craft table at this traditionally well-attended event, please drop an email to one of the organizers.

Mayfest At Palmerston School

This Saturday, Palmerston P.S. puts on Mayfest from 11 am to 3 pm.

There'll be a silent auction, which usually features some amazing offerings, including services from professionals; restaurant gift certificates; and tons of interesting games, books and toys. The gift basket raffle generally is stupdendous, too. Every year I'm amazed at what goes up for grabs.

Book lovers will want to check out the book sale in the gym and bargain hunters can head to the same place for the rummage sale. In past years, I've seen everything from ice skates, to occasional tables, to toys to computer software for sale.

Of course, there'll be tons to do for wee ones, including games, a popular Cake Walk to win home-made cakes and a dino dig area. Perennially popular and lined several people deep are the henna tattoo booth and the face painting booth.

You'll also be able to buy homemade baked goods, food from an International buffet, BBQ offerings and goodies from a candy market.

Palmerston PS is at 734 Palmerston Avenue, at the corner of Barton and Palmerston. Festivities happen rain or shine, which is good considering the Weather Gods may not be co-operative.
