"In August 2013, the streets of Toronto and across the Greater Golden Horseshoe will come alive with a celebration of exotic, irresistible Pan American music that will literally cascade down the boulevards.
Building on last year’s success of Play Me, I’m Yours, for the summer of 2013, we propose to once again give the gift of music to the people of Toronto and the Greater Golden Horseshoe with a cultural tapas of the Americas and Caribbean, celebrating the rich mosaic of our Pan American music family.
Inspired by the multi-coloured Chivas of Colombia, Pied Piper-like sound systems of Jamaica and mass tailgate parties of North America, STREETSIDE, presented by CIBC, will showcase Latin American and Caribbean sound explosions guaranteed to cool a hot summer’s night.
Imagine nine beautifully-appointed vintage pickup trucks, each filled with talented musicians performing sizzling hot Pan American music—salsa, tango, Cajun, samba, reggae, funk and calypso—highlighting what’s to come in 2015 as part of TO2015’s Arts and Culture festival, presented by CIBC."Here's the line up:
