Want To Adopt A Kitty?

Baby, it's cold outside! Which makes me think of snuggling to stay warm. Which makes me think of... cats!
(What did you think I was going to say?)
If you need an adorable kitty to warm your lap and light up your evenings, Annex Cat Rescue has quite an enticing array of felines available for adoption.

For instance, the model on the right, looking competely adorable, is Fergie.
Who could resist that face? That pose?
Happy cuddling!

Annex Cat Rescue

I always enjoy reading Corey Mintz's columns in the Toronto Star. He is an excellent writer and I love his column concept: invite  interesting people to dinner and write about both the food and the conversation.
Mintz recently wrote about Toronto's feral cat population and the people who tend to it, including Annex Cat Rescue.
By the way, an easy way to support Annex Cat Rescue work is to buy a $4 catnip toy at the counter at Wiener's Home Hardware. The money raised supports the organization's work.
Cheers,

Vanessa

Yard Sale to Benefit Annex Cat Rescue

This Saturday, head over to 244 Howland (south of Dupont beside the Fire Hall) and pick up some bargains during a yard sale from 10 am to 4 pm.
At the same time, you can help the work of the Annex Cat Rescue. If you've never purchased one of the ACR's catnip toys, do so. I don't know a kitty who doesn't like them. (Well, except for Ted Leo, who whacked it "but good," exploded it and then took off outside for 12 hours. But Ted's a oner... not only does he roam the neighbourhood widely, he's a literary cat. You may recognize him from his photo.)
You can donate items in good condition to the yard sale until 1 pm.
Purr,
Vanessa

Annex Cat Rescue Article

I like to mention Annex Cat Rescue regularly to remind people that it exists and to introduce it to new readers.
The Annex, by far, has the most feral cats of the places that I have lived in Toronto. Being a cat lover, I feel for the furry homeless critters, especially when a cold snap like this one hits.
Now Magazine ran an interesting column about Toronto's feral cats that I thought I'd share with you. It mentions Annex Cat Rescue and other organizations that do so much to help cats in our city.
Cheers,
Vanessa

Annex Cat Rescue Looking For Adopters

I didn't realize when I wrote about the Toronto Humane Society's pet adoption blitz that our own Annex Cat Rescue is "bursting at the seams."
The exact wording on the website is "It has been an especially tough season this year -- our foster program is bursting at the seams -- and there are many more cats waiting on the streets, desperately needing homes!"
So, once again, if you've ever thought of bringing a furry friend into your life, now is a great time to do it.
Cheers,
Vanessa
