Courtyard Movies Begin June 13th

I've noticed a resurgence in outdoor movies this past decade. I wonder why? Perhaps it was that charming scene in the hokey The Wedding Planner movie? Or a nostalgia for drive-in theatres, which are largely a thing of the past?
Whatever the reason, it's a lovely trend.
St. Peter Catholic Church on Bathurst, just across from the Bathurst subway station, shows movies in its courtyard (or inside, if it rains) on "select" Fridays during the balmier months.
The next screening is The Princess Bride, Friday June 13th at 8:30 pm.
Admission is free and you can buy popcorn and refreshments.

And don't forget about the Christie Pits Film Festival!
The line up hasn't been announced yet, but things will kick off in Christie Pits park July 6th and run on successive Sundays.
Screenings are free/PWYC and "bring your own blanket."
Perhpas I'll see you under the stars this year....

Cheers,
Vanessa

Bedazzled On The Marquee Tonight at St. Peter's Courtyard Movies

Head to the courtyard of St. Peter's church at Bloor and Bathurst at 8:30 tonight to catch a free screening of Bedazzled.
Part of the church's Courtyard Movie series, the screening will move indoors if the weather doesn't co-operate (and it's not looking very co-operative right now.)
Bedazzled, made in 1967, is a cult classic, particularly among Dudley Moore/Peter Cook fans. (Not to be confused with the Brendan-Fraser remake. Please.)
Happy viewing,
Vanessa

Cheers,
Vanessa
