King Tut Exhibit Coming To The AGO

Remember Tut-mania? I guess I'm dating myself by admitting that I remember the King Tut fever that spread as a huge King Tut exhibit toured in 1979 and touched down in Toronto.
Remember the Steve Martin skit and song on SNL?
Well, there's a new exhibit rolling into town this fall: King Tut: The Golden King And The Great Pharoahs.
I'm an AGO member and have already ordered my free preview tickets.
Thought I'd give you a heads up in case you want to do the same.
Cheers,
Vanessa

AGO Camps Opening Up

Summer camp space in T.O. is always at a premium and even more so this year since the city workers' strike has shut some of them down.
Although they're probably happening too late to be of help to parents left stranded by the strike, the AGO actually has space left in two camps.
This was in the latest eNewsletter:
"Design Camp: Spaces still available!
Art camp is almost sold out so we've added another week of camp!
One week: August 24-28, 9 to 4 pm.
Fun and friends in a Surreal world of art making for ages 6-13.
Spaces still available in the AGO/OCAD design camps! An entirely new camp experience for children ages 8-13 years. OCAD faculty lead 2-week design camps in OCAD studios, exploring architecture, environmental design, textiles, graphic design and much more.
To view the full camp schedule, please click here. Call 416-979-6608 to register today.
Cheers,
Vanessa
