Eye Candy: Weathered

News is slow, slow, slow. As it should be in the summer! So I decided to brighten up the Blog with a dash of red. (I know, I know: I posted a similar pic already.)
What is it about weathered barn board? I know that I'm not the only one who finds it beautiful.
Is it the silvery sheen that it takes on from years of wind, snow and rain battering? Is it the passage of time that it represents? Does it evoke a simpler time, when we lived rural lives?
Who knows.
This I do know: I find it beautiful.
