Second Annex Tree Tour Planned

This news is from the Annex Residents' Association:
"The first educational tour of the trees of the Annex was held on Saturday July 17th. It was fun and interesting for the attendees - so much so that we decided to offer another tour, for the truely devoted and especially for those ARA members who may have wanted to attend the
first tour but were unavailable.

Note: a different tour route and different trees will be chosen for this tour!

This educational tour of the special trees of the Annex is an initiative co-sponsored by the Annex Residents' Association and LEAF: Local Enhancement and Appreciation of Forests, a not-for-profit organization that is dedicated to the protection and improvement of the urban forest through education, training and planting initiatives.

Tour description: Join LEAF volunteer Amanda Gomm and others as we explore historic and newly planted trees in the Annex. This neighbourhood walk will meet in Taddle Creek Park and head west to observe historic trees and highlight ongoing efforts to restore and improve bio-diversity in this community through urban forest rehabilitation and enhancement of the tree canopy.
You'll also have a unique opportunity to observe beautiful backyards in the Annex, home
to a variety of wildlife, native trees and rare plant species.

Cost: this tour of the special trees of the Annex is free for ARA members, and will cost $10 for non-members, space permitting.

Register by email with the names of the people who will be attending the tour. Space is quite limited so please respond early, if you are interested to join this tour."
Cheers,
Vanessa
