Busy at Lunch Tomorrow?

Need a little cheer to boost your Christmas spirit? How about listening to Christmas carols?
"The City of Toronto invites the public to celebrate the season on Friday, December 23 with the annual Christmas Choral Celebration. Residents can join in the singing or simply enjoy the vocal stylings of All the King's Voices, Toronto Beaches Children's Chorus and the Nathaniel Dett Chorale. Musical accompaniment is provided by the Tower Brass.
The concert lasts approximately one hour and will conclude with a visit from Santa. Sign language interpretation will be provided.

Nothing To Do With The Annex...

... but you may have read about Mary Trapani Hynes' Modest Proposal made during yesterday's marathon session down at Toronto City Hall as people discussed city services and possible budget cuts.
Her speech is short, effective and funny. What more could you ask for?

PS Always amazed at how relevant Swift's A Modest Proposal still is today and how many effective homages are paid to it. I must read more of his stuff! And to think it was written in 1729...
