Are you thinking of getting jewellery for your sweetheart for Valentine's Day? Or are you in the market to treat yourself to stave off the winter blues?
If so, you should head to Ten Thousand Villages on Bloor West, just east of Albany Ave: today through Sunday, all the jewellery in the store is Buy 1, Get 1 at 50% off.
It also applies to online sales; use the promo code FEB92014.
Cheers,
Vanessa

Shop Local This Christmas
If you celebrate Christmas and you live in The Annex, it really is a great opportunity to "buy local" and to buy responsibly.
Ten Thousand Villages on Bloor just east of Albany has tons of gorgeous and tasty fair trade gifts.
As well, the Artisans' Gift Fair runs every weekend at The Tranzac on Brunswick Ave. The hours are noon to 6 pm and admission is free.
There are too many local stores to mention, of course, so strap on your walking boots and make your first shopping stop Bloor Street West.
Cheers,
Vanessa

Spices at Ten Thousand Villages
I was in Ten Thousand Villages the other day and noticed that it carries spices, including ones that I sometimes have difficulty finding in our area. (I'm looking at you, lemon grass.)
I love the philosophy behind the store, so having a handy source of difficult-to-find spices is just another thing to add to the list when I go to our local one, along with fair-trade chocolate, coffee and gifts.
Cheers,
