Criminals... rum running... the Crime of the Century. Sounds like the plot of a mafia movie, except it's the description of Tough Jews, a play that is getting a "special workshop reading" this Saturday at the MNJcc.
Here's the scoop:
"The Miles Nadal JCC Between Stages series, with the generous support of Caplansky's Deli, invites you to a special workshop reading of:
TOUGH JEWS by Michael Ross Albert
Directed by David Ferry
Featuring: Claire Armstrong, Ben Clost, Natasha Greenblatt, Luke Humphrey, Tanja Jacobs, Adam Pettle and Jordan Pettle
Set in the crime-filled Jewish ghetto of prohibition-era Kensington Market, TOUGH JEWS follows a family of criminals who try their hand at rum-running. As the family's fortunes begin to spiral out of control, they find themselves implicated in the Crime of the Century.
Please note: this play reading takes place in room 318 (and not in the Theatre)
Admission $10 at the door. No advance tickets. Tickets on sale from 6 pm - on, Saturday March 1st."
Cheers,
Vanessa
