News is slow as people gear up/down for the Holidays, so I thought that I'd share an easy, delicious recipe with you.
I find vegetables challenging -- not cooking them, but cooking them to make them a bit, well... fancy.
One day the Metro at Spadina and Bloor had French green beans for sale, so I grabbed a pack. I'm not sure what makes them "French," but I can tell you that they're skinnier than normal green beans -- and more expensive.
I found this recipe on the Food Network site, applied it to my newly found haricots and, ooh la la! Very yummy.
It strikes me that they would make a great, fancy-ish yet easy side dish for a Holiday meal.

PS I tried the recipe with "normal" green beans. Not nearly as special-tasting!
