"The Harbord Village Residents' Association, in partnership with the Annex Residents' Association, will be hosting our bi-annual Litter and Glitter Clean-Up Gala on November 23. Two neighbourhoods coming together to clean up their streets is in itself a great community-building exercise, but what makes our event special is the glamour party we host afterwards. After picking up garbage, community members:
- walk the red carpet at the Bloor Hot Docs Cinema, with two local theatre troupes acting as adoring fans, media, and celebrities
- indulge in a massive lunch, provided by local restaurants
- enjoy a live band and an open bar, courtesy of Creemore Springs and the Wine Rack
- win prizes donated by over 60 local businesses
- chat, make connections, and make our neighbourhoods better places to live.
At our last fall clean-up we had around 200 people attend, and we expect it to be even bigger this year. We are on track for $5,000 worth of prizes and in-kind donations, including flights for two to New York City courtesy of Porter Airlines."
