Hamlet, Set In An Ancient Hindu Kingdom

I love living in a university town. And our area is close enough to U of T that we can benefit from using or admiring its lovely spaces and also enjoy the vigour that youthful students inject into our area.
Universities also can be a source of free or inexpensive lectures and entertainment. Case in point: playing now at University College is a production of Hamlet set in an ancient Hindu Kingdom.
"The plots and subplots of Hamlet, with their intricacies and the fallibility of human nature, are reminiscent of Ancient Hindu epics such as the Ramayana and the Mahabharata. This production sets Hamlet in an Ancient Hindu kingdom where the aforementioned themes are commonplace and the rewards and punishments for good or bad action (karma) respectively are distributed post-mortem."
Intriguing.

Performances take place tonight, Friday and Saturday at University College JCR. Ticket prices range from $10 to $20.
Cheers,
Vanessa
