Fundraiser for New Zealand Red Cross Earthquake Appeal Wednesday

The death and devastation wrought by the recent earthquake and tsunami in Japan weighs heavily on us all, I'm sure.
I was travelling when an earthquake hit New Zealand February 22nd and I'm embarrassed to admit that I almost forgot about it until this event news arrived in my inbox.
It seems to be a great way to raise funds for New Zealand earthquake relief and it's close by in Yorkville.
"NEW ZEALAND EARTHQUAKE APPEAL KEA TORONTO [a branch of KEA International] and HEMINGWAYS RESTAURANT are inviting all Kiwis and friends of New Zealand to come together at HEMINGWAYS, 142 Cumberland Street in Yorkville, on WEDNESDAY, MARCH 23rd for a special fundraiser.
This event will run all day from 11 am to close at 2 am, with special foods, raffles, [win a trip to NZ] and an auction , with all the proceeds going directly to the NEW ZEALAND RED CROSS EARTHQUAKE APPEAL.
As a small contribution Peter Hall will be playing the piano from noon through to 2 pm with songs from his Broadway revue, PLAYBILL, and from SILKS which is an original musical. He also will have available his CD ‘REQUESTS – THE KIWI ON THE KEYS’ which will be yours with a $5 donation to the fund.
If you are unable to attend but wish to make a financial contribution to support those who have been badly affected by the earthquake, it is suggested you donate online at www.redcross.org.nz."
