Petition About Bill Bolton Arena

By now, most of you know about the brouhaha concerning management of the city's ice rinks. Our own treasured Bill Bolton arena, just north of Vermont Square park, is affected by it, so a lot of community members are watching the action closely.
If you're one of them, this email that landed in my inbox with a situation update and a link to an online petition may interest you:
"... the city is looking at taking over management of the eight city-owned rinks managed by local community boards, including Bill Bolton.
Last week, a Parks & Recreation Committee met for 10 hours, and recommended a good compromise that would leave Bill Bolton's current structure intact while making sure its programming includes fairness and diversity.
There is, however, a chance the mayor and the 44 city councilors will decide to ignore the recommendation, which could mean the end or major changes to all the popular programming created and run by Bill Bolton's management team - the children's, men's, women's and family activities.
As a result, we need your support to let the mayor and city council know about how we feel. We've created a new online petition at http://www.gopetition.com/online/34037.html that you can sign. It also includes a suggested e-mail and e-mail addresses for the mayor and the 44 councilors.
If have a few minutes, please sign the petition and send the e-mail. As well, it would be great if you could pass along the petition to as many people as possible."
Cheers,
Vanessa
