I'm still in shock about the age of the accused in our area's sexual assault cases. It added to that shock when I learned that he now faces two additional charges.

Arrest Made In Area Sexual Assaults
More details will be available at 10 am, but police have arrested a suspect in the sexual assaults in our area.
Let's hope that they have the right guy and we can breathe a bit easier.

Councillor Responds To Sexual Assaults
The recent string of sexual assaults in our neighbourhood is alarming and sobering. It's taking awhile to catch the person responsible, so I think it's great that local Councillor Mike Layton has issued a response to the issue.
His safety suggestions include keeping porch lights on after dark and reporting burnt-out street lights.

Walk in Support of the Women of Christie Pits
As I mentioned -- and as is splashed all over the media -- the sex assaults in The Annex/Seaton Village/Christie Pits area continue; there's was a rash of them during the weekend.
Another walk has been planned in support of the women of Christie Pits. It will begin this evening at 8 pm at the south end of the park at Christie and Bloor.

Action Against Sexual Assaults Planned For Monday Night
Following a spate of sexual assaults in our area and Kensington Market, there will be a march through the neighbourhood Monday night.
As of this a.m., almost 400 people have signed up for the march on a Facebook page.
It's due to kick off at 7 pm at Christie Pits park and last until 9 pm.

Women: Be Alert
It's official: police have issued an alert about a man who is sexually assaulting young women in The Annex and Kensington Market.
Six women have been "grabbed and groped" this summer by someone who approaches them from behind, at night.
Police fear the attacks might get worse.
Be vigilant, be safe.
