NOW Magazine recently published its "best of Toronto" issue and, as expected, our area and environs is home to a lot of winners. It's voted on by readers so -- yeah!
A few examples: Victory Cafe for Best Pub; Karma Co-op for best Bulk Food AND best Green Grocer; Fiesta Farms for Best Supermarket; Insomnia for Best Lounge AND Best Martini; and Sonic Boom for Best Record Store.
Cheers,
Vanessa

Want To Enjoy A Drink Beside A Cozy Fireplace?
The weather has turned decidedly frosty lately. If you need a warming drink on a night out, Torontoist published a list of pubs with fireplaces.
Closest to our area is Victory Cafe in Mirvish Village. The Roof Lounge at the Park Hyatt is in Yorkville, but still within walking distance.
Cheers,
Vanessa

Little Women and BIKE Drinks Tonight
Two events to tell you about today... the Randolph Academy on Bathurst, south of Bloor, is featuring a performance of Little Women tonight at 8 pm. It benefits the academy and the Sunnybrook Foundation.
And BIKE Drinks is the Toronto Cyclists Union's ""two-wheeled adaptation of the globally popular Green Drinks, a monthly social for those who work or have an interest in the Environmental movement. Bring along a friend or two to meet your friendly local cycling advocates in a relaxed informal space, get the latest bike related news, hear about upcoming events /campaigns/volunteer opportunities and hang out with other folks that dig bikes!"
It's family friendly and takes place today from 6:30 pm to 9 pm at The Victory Cafe on Markham St.

Attention Suds Lovers: Pub Crawl Tomorrow
I'm not a huge beer drinker, but I can understand the appeal of a tall, frosty ale on a hot, sticky day.
If you are a connoiseur of the amber ambrosia, particularly of Ontario Craft Brewers (OCB) products, then Cass' & Troy's First Annual OCB Pub Crawl may interest you.
The crawl kicks off tomorrow night at The Victory Cafe on Markham St., right on our doorstep, and crawls to four additional places in the Annex and Kensington Market.
In addition to beer drinking, the crawl will feature tall tales, prize giveaways and serves as the launch of voting for the 2010 Golden Tap Awards, which honour OCB's best.
Sláinte,
Vanessa
