Neighbourhood Caroling set for Sunday, December 21st

The ice storm just prior to Christmas last year wreaked havoc on many things, not least of which is the lovely tradition of neighbourhood caroling in Seaton Village.
The show did go on, but walking throughout the area was just too slippery to contemplate.
Let's hope that the weather for this year's door-to-door festivities is more co-operative!
Warm up your vocal chords, get your toasty clothes ready and mark Dec. 21st on your calendar.
Here's the scoop:
"Calling all Seaton Village Carolers. We shall once again serenade the Hood with the sounds of Xmas Carols.......Deck The Halls, I Saw Three Ships, Oh Holy Night

DATE - Sunday Dec 21 2014

TIME - 6:15 pm  till 8:00 pm outside caroling ....8:15 pm till whenever inside caroling

MEET - 6:15 in front of 74 Vermont Ave.

THE PLAN - We meet at 6:15 to receive song books and instructions. The caroling begins at 6:30 serenading houses on a predetermined route. By 8:00 we arrive at [a house in The Annex] and begin  the inside singing around the piano. The singing of the Hallelujah Chorus is a must for all to join in.

Please pass this message to all interested souls...all are very welcome to join us...singing voice not necessary...joyful, festive spirit necessary."

Cheers,
Vanessa

Neighbourhood Caroling Tonight!

ANOTHER caroling opportunity. Whew-hah! Here are the details:
"FRIDAY DECEMBER 14 - 6 PM COMMUNITY CAROLING
Meet out front of the Christie Pits Park Skating Rink
--Knocking on doors, and belt out a few carols with Jon Osmond's lead (children included!)
--Caroling our way to end up at The Hub, and warm up with hot chocolate, etc. (bring $)"
I was at a private caroling party last night, I'm going to one tomorrow night and I'm debating between neighbourhood caroling Sunday night or listening to Carols by Candlelight. And don't forget the Evening of Carols at RSGC on Monday.
At this rate, carols will be ringing out more frequently than the ca-ching of cash registers. Hallelujah!
Cheers,
Vanessa

Save The Date: Neighbourhood Caroling

For some reason, it really struck me when this showed up in my inbox that this event is less than a month away. Which makes Christmas feel like it's right around the corner.
Ach! And yeah!
But I digress... the 20-year tradition of neighbourhood carolling in Seaton Village and the Annex is an indescribably lovely one. I managed to attend for the first time last year and it was a most lovely part of my Holiday celebrations.
So, mark your calendar AND take note: a "carol master" is needed, though the event is very casual and you don't have to be a stellar singer to participate.
Cheers,
Vanessa
