Island Tour of Homes

Here's something worth marking on your calendar. Or, in fact, better get your tickets right now. This one will be popular, I bet!

"On June 10, 2012, Toronto Island Grannies in Spirit will host their second tour of distinctive homes and community buildings on Toronto Island, each with its own story to tell. The tour will feature a selection of historic, renovated, original and new homes. Ticket holders will meet Island storytellers, view “random acts of history”, have the opportunity to talk to the homeowners, and view photographs and memorabilia from the Island’s immensely interesting history. All proceeds from the House & History Tour will go to the Stephen Lewis Foundation.
Grannies in Spirit is one of over 240 grandmother groups across Canada in the Grandmothers to Grandmothers Campaign, one of the great grassroots movements in Canada. In the six years since it was initiated by the Stephen Lewis Foundation, the campaign has raised more than $12 million for projects in Sub-Saharan Africa that support African grandmothers and their grandchildren orphaned by AIDS.
