This rolled into my inbox from our neighbour:
"Brickworks/Evergreen has opened a bike workshop at the Brickworks and one of the programs they are trying to launch is a bike recycling program. They hope to start a collection service to collect bikes that are no longer needed/used, give them a tune-up in their workshop and then either lend them to people or else donate them to people who otherwise cannot afford a bike. Sound good?
I've been in touch with Shah from the Brickworks and he is in the midst of organizing a pick-up for our neighbourhood. If you have a bike or two you no longer need or want and you'd like to have the Brickworks collect it, retune it and pass it on, then let me know and I'll add your name to the list. I'm not sure of the date yet, but I get the impression it would be relatively soon (a week or two?)."
If you're interested, please send Aruna an email.
Cheers,
Vanessa
