Private Pleasures At The Gardiner

The Gardiner Museum sits across from its bigger, flashier sister, the ROM, on Queen's Park Circle. I love the building and have enjoyed some of its ceramic exhibits in the past... the entire institution is devoted to ceramic arts.
Anyway, the latest show looks interesting: Private Pleasures. It's all about "the historical development of Japanese porcelain during the Edo period and its close connections to other arts of the time such as painting, printmaking, textiles and lacquers. By juxtaposing porcelains with works in other media, the exhibition demonstrates the thorough integration of art into many different aspects of Edo-period Japanese life and culture."
Hmmm... just might have to make a visit!
Cheers,
Vanessa
