Discuss Barton Avenue Traffic With Councillor Vaughan on Monday

Does fast traffic on Barton Avenue (west of Bathurst) concern you? Here's an opportunity to do something about it... I found this on the Seaton Village Residents' Association website, which also mentions that an arrest has been made in connection with local B & Es.

"Barton Street Walk – Monday, May 17
This is a reminder that after the compost pick up at 2pm in Vermont Square Park, Councillor Vaughan will lead a walk of Barton Street to find solutions to safety and traffic issues. Information reprinted from Councillor Vaughan’s website (because I can’t figure out how to link!) is below.
The purpose of the walk is to look at creative ways that we can calm traffic on Barton Street in particular so that pedestrians, especially children walking to and from school, will feel safer in their neighbourhood.
Gil Penalosa of 8-80 Cities – a non-profit organization that works with communities around the world to create safe, liveable streets for all – will be joining us to provide his insight and expertise.

Starting point: Vermont Square Park (meet on the west side of the park – by the compost drop!)
The idea for this walk came out of the Seaton Village traffic meeting that I held in partnership with the Seaton Village Residents’ Association on February 3 of this year. Following the meeting, I promised to arrange for a group of local residents to join me and an expert in the transportation field for a walk along Barton Avenue.
