I had never heard of brain surgeon Dr. Henry Marsh and his work in the Ukraine prior to hearing about a screening of a documentary about him called The English Surgeon.
Not only has it won all kinds of film festival awards, Variety calls it "deeply touching, resonant and... very funny" and the New York Times says it is "enthralling, astonishing... agonizingly human."

Anyway, the reason I'm telling you all this is that there are two upcoming screenings of the documentary to commemorate the 20th anniversary of the The Children of Chornobyl Canadian Fund and one of them is Friday within walking distance...
"Dr. Ihor Kurilets, the Ukrainian co-star of this film, has been invited to come to Toronto for a week to attend the screenings.
On the evening of November 20th the screening will take place on the University of Toronto campus in the Medical Sciences Auditorium. Dr. Kurilets will be joined by neurosurgeons from University of Toronto to take part in a panel discussion...
