Heirloom Tomatoes, Anyone?

Well, I'm a little late with this one, but if you read this prior to 1 pm you can hop up to the Green Barn Market in the Wychwood Barns and enjoy some lovely heirloom tomatoes from Vicki's Veggies.
They're hosting a tasting today and I'm sure there's a myriad of other tasty things to occupy you at the market, too.
Have you ever tasted an heirloom tomato? I did a story about them many moons ago and, from what I remember, the reason they are so much tastier and juicier is that they are grown from tomato varieties known for precisely those qualities.
Why aren't all veggies, you wonder? Well, most are grown for durability and other factors that are aimed at preserving them, unbruised, until they get trucked from a farm, and then to a supplier and then to a store.
Sadly, that often puts taste and texture at the bottom of the desirability list.
But you don't have to believe me... try them today yourself.
Enjoy,
Vanessa
