Well, our garbage may be piling up, but at least we have an opportunity this Saturday to dispose of used batteries, and other items that are verboten in the regular trash.
This is from our local councillor's eNewsletter:
"Councillor Adam Vaughan invites you to Environment Day!
Date: Saturday, June 27, 2009
Time: 10:00 am to 2:00 pm
Location: Central Technical School, 725 Bathurst Street Councillor Vaughan’s Community Environment Day is coming up on Saturday, June 27th from 10am to 2pm. It will be held at the rear of Central Technical School, on Borden Street, near the intersection of Bathurst and Bloor.
This is your opportunity to drop off your unwanted, used or unused small electrical items (ie. cell phones, computers, TVs), used tires, and household hazardous waste for recycling or disposal. You can also bring many items including art supplies, sporting goods, books, CDs, medical equipment and non-perishable foods, which will be donated to the public school board and Goodwill. Composters, water efficiency kits, and rain barrels will be available for purchase.
Join us on June 27th for a hot dog (or veggie dog), pick up some free compost for your garden, and have chat with your Councillor’s office, neighbours and resident associations about projects in your community. Children are especially welcome!"
Cheers,
Vanessa
